1. What is a suggestion? ما معنى الاقتراح؟
A suggestion is an idea you give to someone.
الاقتراح هو فكرة تقدمها لشخص ما
Example:
What should we do today?
ماذا سنفعل اليوم؟
Suggestion:
Let’s watch a movie.
لنشاهد فيلماً
2. Let’s + verb لنفعل شيئاً معاً
We use Let’s when we want to do something with another person.
عندما نقترح شيئاً نفعله مع شخص آخر Let’s نستعمل
Examples:
Let’s study English.
لندرس الإنجليزية
Let’s go home.
لنذهب إلى المنزل
Let’s eat pizza.
لنأكل البيتزا
3. Why don’t we + verb? لماذا لا نفعل…؟
This is a polite way to make a suggestion.
هذه طريقة مهذبة لتقديم اقتراح
Examples:
Why don’t we take a taxi?
لماذا لا نأخذ سيارة أجرة؟
Why don’t we meet tomorrow?
لماذا لا نلتقي غداً؟
Why don’t we ask the teacher?
لماذا لا نسأل الأستاذ؟
4. How about + verb-ing? ما رأيك في…؟
After How about, we use the verb with -ing.
مع الفعل ing نستعمل ،How about بعد
Examples:
How about watching a film?
ما رأيك في مشاهدة فيلم؟
How about drinking coffee?
ما رأيك في شرب القهوة؟
How about going to the park?
ما رأيك في الذهاب إلى الحديقة؟
5. Accepting a suggestion قبول الاقتراح
Use these expressions when you like the idea.

6. Refusing a suggestion politely رفض الاقتراح بطريقة مهذبة
Use these expressions when you cannot accept the idea.

Sorry, I can’t.

Maybe another time.
